I just picked up a 74 Comet and while I was removing all of the messed up stereo and wires this was bolted under the dash. The wires go into the harness. I tried to google the number but it came up unknown.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks, Chuck D7814F55-33EC-4770-BF47-8A228E06D919.jpeg C9F8704D-1F9D-4271-B0A1-902197A549C7.jpeg 3D7348A1-60CD-4DFF-B23E-FCC60592EAE3.jpeg C9F8704D-1F9D-4271-B0A1-902197A549C7.jpeg 3D7348A1-60CD-4DFF-B23E-FCC60592EAE3.jpeg

Yup, that is what it is, the one in my 74 Comet was yellow.....you can disconnect and remove it, if you like.

It has to be bypassed. Just unplugging it will cause issues.

I remember unplugging and removing it from my 74 Comet, do not think I did anything else and it ran fine for over 20 years! Removed it because I wanted to clean up all the unnecessary clutter under the dash, along with those annoying seatbelt buzzer's! I think I may have disconnected the sensor/switch under my bucket seat too.

Originally belts had to be buckled or engine would not crank. After much backlash, Ford issued a bulletin that allowed dealers to bypass module. Dependent on where modification was installed, car may or may not crank after module removal.

My 74 Comet did not have this override push button switch, yet my 74 Mav had it and both had that interlock box, weird!
