What is the rareest OE part on a maverick

    Does it have the vinyl ,too? I have a '74 comet 2dr halo top with the ldo package I thought(with woodgrain look on the dash & wide molding on side like Craig's,,,B.T.W.you'rs looks really nice ,Craig),but it doesn't have that rear panel trim.Can you post a pic of it. John

    Three 71 Maverick Grabbers, a 72 302 Sprint, a 73 LDO 2door parts car, a 76 silver v8 Stallion.
    That's the same as the ones I have except one of mine is rounded on the rt side to allow for the ac vent.

    Looks nice,hard for me to see in the pic/is it over vinyl?Just wondering if the comets had vinyl,as well.To me,that looks SLICK!!

    Mavericks and Comets have different rear tail panels, and so the metal trim is different as well. Comets never had vinyl on the rear tail panel. Probably due to the concave curve of the panel I presume......and the total lack of interest in Comets in general. :D

    I do have one more very rare part to list. Inside rear view mirror that is mounted to the inside roof rail, not the windshield. I will get to the shop some time this week and get a pic of it to post.

    Why would you say that? It came off of a early 69.5 I got from the original owner, it had been parked in a field for about 25 years after a front end collision. I ask if it had been changed out and he told me it was there from the day it was taken off the dealership lot. I have also seen other pics of some 69.5s that also had it mounted to the roof rail. You know as well as I do that these cars never seem to amaze us. We find new things about them every day.

    It is not "what I think"....it is the truth. No Mavericks ever had a roof mounted rear view mirror from the factory. :Handshake
