See attached photo. Searching for a Maverick wiring expert. There are two light green/yellow stripe wires that merge into a single female bullet connector. Coming out of the same wire bundle is a black wire with a male Bullet connector. The problem is that there is nothing close by to plug these connectors into. Does anyone know what these wires do and where they connect. They are dangling under the right side of the dash. 93E8784B-76E6-4765-A714-F77C063E5DE8.jpeg

Diagrams indicate lt green & yellow were for the door switches and connect to the fuse panel and headlight switch. Possibly for an additional lighting option? Is it hot, does it energize if you switch on the dome lamp or open one of the doors?

That could be for the optional courtesy light package?

Yep, should be originating from door light switches.

The wires have 12 volts even with the ignition switch off doors closed and everything in the car turned off.

Green with yellow stripe is door switch circuit, hot continually means it's on feed(from fuse panel) vs switched lead. Circuit colors were standardized between carlines in the early/mid '60s, same for most if not all models.

Yes I know all of this. I have all of the factory wiring diagrams. What I am asking is where do the wires shown in my photo connect???? There are no wires anywhere in the vicinity for them to plug into. I took the passenger seat out so I could lie down with my head under the dash, looked everywhere for where they could possibly lead and came up empty. I’m hoping someone can look at their own car and see the same wires as in my photo and see what is plugged into them.

Probably for operating a under dash courtesy light. I'd bet same is in my Comet, never looked.

I have such wiring in my Cobra & Fairlane, light for those also has switch to allow independent operation of door sw. It isn't installed in either, part of optional courtesy package neither has.

They added the glovebox in 73. Pretty shallow box but you can squeeze a pack of gum or two into it

I added a glove box light. Those wires were taped up in the loom. I just plugged switch into them and it works.
