I've seen the video, in fact I left a comment on YouTube for John that brought up the subject of a 351C in a Maverick.

Agreed... Put together by someone who didn't check their facts....

Oil embargo didn't have a damn thing to do with Maverick... That happened in Nov '73, the '74 models were already in showroom... Pinto's had been out two years... Mustang wasn't selling because in '71 it was expensive, fat and not that good looking.... Hot Rod said it was like seeing the Homecoming Queen at your 10th year class reunion that had gained 50lbs... Ford went too far in other direction with the '74 Stang... Would have been a mediocre seller at best but the embargo made it the 4th best seller after '65, '66. & '67... Maverick sold well as everyone was buying smaller, fuel efficient vehicles(not me, I soldiered through the shortages with a 390 Galaxie & my 428 Cobra Jet)...

In '72 there was a gas war here locally... At one station prices for regular down to 13.9 & 17.9 for premium(Unleaded was still in future)... I went over to fill up, price was up to 17.9 for regular & 21.9 for premium...

Nope all off top of my head... I know lots of trivial stuff, just very little that's actually important... ;)

I didn't know the '74 Stang was 4th best seller until a few months ago when I was looking at production totals... And that's without a v8 option... I laugh when the whiners go on about no 4bbl for Maverick cause Ford didn't want to lose Mustang sales... Stang had no v8 in '74, and only a 2bbl 302/5.0 through '79... In '80 & '81 Stang lost the 5.0 and the anemic 255 was only v8 option, 2bbl 5.0 returned in '82... Not till '83 did the 4bbl return to option list... That's NINE years without a 4bbl, longer than the total Maverick run...
