I am digging the Edsel wagon as well, a friend of mine that got me interested in Mavericks also got me hooked on Edsels as well but mainly 58s because of the horse collar grill. He sold several of them at swap meets and they all went to over seas, Sweden mainly. I think they just got a bad rap from Ford because the public just wasnt ready for them yet.1960 Edsels were ugly though.
The '59 Edsel was styled similarly to '58, but lost much of the glitz & glamor. Teletouch automatic discontinued, now only built on Ford chassis with similar engine lineup. BION around '68 a friend had a '59 equipped with 6cyl & three on tree, till I ran across this article, never saw another. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/article/frugal-ford-1959-edsel-ranger
My friend took a lot of big bearing 9" rear ends out of those Edsels and sold them for some good money and were just little bit wider than the Mavericks. One time I went with him and picked up 5 Edsels he even picked up a nice one that had a dual quad set up on it for $500.00, not factory of course
Back in the late 80's the local machine shop owner's dad had 25 Edsels parked together behind the shop. Everyone was in very nice condition that could win a Top 10 at local shows and not nice part cars.
