  • I purchased the Stallion this year 2016 from a good friend Wilbur in Plymouth Ohio, we drug an empty trailer 2,500 miles to pick it up at the 2016 Gathering in Lima Ohio. It took some doing to talk him into selling it but after a year of thinking about it he and his wife decided that they could part with the car and knew it would go to a good home. Even the grand kids were in on the decision.

Wilbur had owned the car since 1999 and has seen lots of car shows in the surrounding area. Wilbur like myself has owned several Mavericks and still currently owns another very nice 76 Maverick so he is not without a car. The car still has its original paint although Wilbur has waxed it so much that it has a shine rather than the satin finish it originally came with which is fine because I like the shine better. It carries some minor war wounds from years of service but remains original with the exception of a 4 barrel and a set of headers. It is a great driving car and draws lots of attention

Future plans are to give it a new paint job in the future but they are only original once so fighting with myself to keep it original. If and when the decision is made to paint it I will paint it the original colors with the exception of the black will be one of the newer black metallic colors with multi prismatic flakes. As much as I dislike big bumpers they will remain

Interesting enough when you google Stallion the picture of this car comes up with it sitting on a grassy hill side

After owning Wilbur for a year I decided to go ahead with a small bumper conversion and a new paint job , he painter did a terrific job with the paint and went overboard to make the car look totally awesome . I live in Oregon and the car was painted in Kentucky so it took some planning to get it done

I left the car in Kentucky from August till July and never saw the car until I went to pick it up I did get to help with it as I had the small bumpers and some other parts to go on it. I had left a list of items that I would like to have done such as removing thee FORD letters from hood and trunk , move mirrors forward , new rubber all the way around , new door locks and handles , new windshield and backglass . Lots more to the story but dont want to bore you with details but the bottom line is I am extremely happy with how it turned out
