mo put rattle trap in his car. anywhere there was heat the tar or what ever is in it ran out from it ive put peal and seal in several cars and have not had this happen with it.
This thread has helped me make my decision. Thanks for all the feedback. I am gojng to go with dynamat xtreme and dynaliner over the dyna mat xtreme on the roof. I know everyone has an opinion and mah not agree but the information that came out in what was posted very helpful.
If I had it to do over, I would use this stuff: http://www.automotiveinteriors.com/HEAT_SHIELD.htm A little glue, and the headliner bows will hold it up there just fine. There's no need to stick stuff (like Dynamat, Peal & Seal, etc.) to the roof of your car. Not to mention if you ever needed to remove that stuff, it'd be a lot of "fun".
I know from experience that you don't want something thick behind the headliner and still have the correct factory look...it makes the bows/seam disappear, unless the edge of the padding/foam is about 4"-6" from the bows.
Stuff looks good. But I personally wouldn't call it a sound deadener. It says both deadener and sound insulator. More of an insulator than a deadener imo. Looks like excellent stuff to use if you have a vinyl top.
I remember maybe an inch.. My matting had fallen so I am not sure if it was touching the bows when it was first put in.
I was wondering what thickness of dynaliner I should get without interference with the headliner when I get it installed.
Someone I am sure can tell you for sure of the measurement. If you have the bows you could verify it.. Mine are fed through a liner or I would put them in and measure it for you..
Thank you! That is exactly what I needed. Working on the road doesn't allow me to go out to the garage all the time to get my answers. Thanks for your help!
