I got a hold of a modern driveline t5 cross member for a 67/73 mustang. I've been curious for awhile now wanting to see if it would fit. Well I test fitted it and it looks like all thats needed is to trim the driver side tabs and drill two new holes, ditch the fox mustang mount and use a c4 mount and I should have a half inch of clearance between the shifter base and the floor.[IMG] It will need spacers to because the mustang one is wider... I have Franks cross member to but if I can use this, I wont need to be under the car trying to weld his together... I'm not very good at welding to start with so under a car and with a part this important I'd rather try this first...lol

Be sure to check your pinion angle.

I will check it,thanks... I was told to put a level on the intake and get it as close to level as I can, is this right or is there a certain degree I should set at the trans ?

way to confuse me Frank...lol... If I understand it right, I should measure the pinion angle at the rear and set the trans opposite IE: if the rear is 3* down the trans should be 3* up... Sound right ?

That's the idea, you want the trans output shaft to be parallel with the pinion gear under power. I add a little more downward direction to the pinion as measured at rest, 3*, because the pinion gear will climb the ring gear when accelerating.

Spent a few hours scraping undercoating from my rear wheel tubs, and started prepping the inside floors for seam sealer and Rust Bullet.:smash::jack:
Went by the upholstery shop for a talk with the Man about my Seat "Mods".

Today I had a couple of used tires put on the ol' beater. That of course involved driving it... like I do every day. :D

[IMG][IMG]Started it and let it run for awhile. Done some welding until I ran out of gas. Hung door on it to see how it fit. Not bad but I have new doors that I will hang tomorrow and mess with them.

Liberated the hood skin from the bent, cracked and rusty frame. Next I need to clean the donor frame and skin then put them together.
