so if you had a...stock Mustang with a "Coyote" motor, you would have to replace it with a..."sealed spec crate motor from Ford"...

When I raced with the SCCA, I raced with a "Spec" Miata. The engines were also were also "sealed", but there were a few things that could be done to motor before it was assembled and sealed(no balancing, port matching, lightening, or any visible machine marks on the heads etc., but what a few builders do is to take 10 motors, disassemble them, then find the closest matching weight rods, pistons, pins etc.....which is almost the same as balancing a motor), and it had to be a certified engine builder.....cert'd by the SCCA........Rebello Racing Engines is a local one here in Northern California, and held National titles with some of their Spec Miata engines.
I would assume these motors have a little more attention to detail than a standard assembly line motor,.........I would think anyway, because although they have a steel crank and rods, the pistons are not forged.
A lot of cars in this class use the older Fox Body cars and I believe this will be the only Maverick running in the class..........which is kind of neat!

I think it would be neater to see the Mav. on the road and the motor in a Pinto...:tiphat:

So does this mean you don't like the idea of putting a late model Ford engine in a Maverick ?

Since it is pretty much stock I would think the Maverick can be driven on the road because it has an exhaust system and is pretty much stock, with exception of a few items......................"Race on Saturday, and drive it home on Sunday".

I don't much like the overly complicated, fat ass Coyote/modular in anything, would just as soon have the late Chevy that's a drop in...

A Coyote isn't complicated, look into it. Its the way of the future. I've been doing some research, and it seems that a number of people run AJE suspensions, on the street, with no issues.

To each his own...but putting an LS in a Maverick requires the same mods to the car as the Coyote does, so a "Drop in" it ain't.

I don't see what the difference is? I'd be happy with 412 HP outta the box.

I like the idea of the coyote in the car it's diffrent. Plus it's a big motor good hp what else could you ask for. And the coyote is a very tuneable and easly wired engine in any application. Race it get ice cream in it do a burnout
