    A friend of mine did all the cutting and tig welding , he is very good at what he does. At times we had some of the tubes in and out 6to8 times to cut and refit before tacking.These headers are 10 piece with slip on collecters and are user friendly, all header bolts go off and on with 1/4'' ratchet and 3/8'' socket. As do plugs and wires.

    Got the timing chain and gears on, tried to check piston to valve clearance and the damn Play Dough only wanted to slide down the face of that forged piston, going to try again another time.

    super nice paint job above love that color

    I swapped the filler neck and put in a rubber ring in the gas tank hole then put the screw down piece in the floor of the trunk YES no more gas smell and put on a perfect back bumper

    Got the piston to valve clearance check done, it was fine, bolted on the heads, got the pushrods in and roller rockers on, set valve lash, bolted on timing chain cover with water pump and prepared the oil pan for installation later.

    Went to Eddie's Body Shop to drop off my subframe connectors, rebuilt door hinges and front fender/door bolts. Looks like it will go under the gun in a few weeks

    Thanks! I am very happy today. It finally ran after 33 years of rotting. I have had a lot of bad luck on engine rebuild startups, but this one went fine (except it was below zero outside). Maybe the MCCI rally in Washington PA is in reach!

    Ran out of gas for the second time in four days. For some reason it's only getting 6 miles per gallon instead of my normal 8 miles per gallon.:huh:
