Rewired everything under the hood. Starting on the under dash wires tomorrow. Going to be a headache. Looks like a birds nest under there

I added 1" lowering blocks that Earl gave me years ago and I used the new U-bolts that Frank gave me months ago. The blocks put the rear back down where it was before I bought new taller tires...went from 235-60's to 245-60's. The tires fill the wheel opening a lot better with the lowering blocks.

Replaced the accelerator pump on the carb, fixed front right broken self adjuster for the brakes, got a state inspection, and insurance.

Went through the car and checked every nut and bolt I could get to under the car to make sure nothing came loose after my first weekend at the drag strip. Everything is tight and car is working like a champ! Gonna step it up this weekend and see what kind of numbers I can produce..

I was going to clean up the Maverick to get ready to go to a car show and notice the fan belt slipping. After tighten the adjustment bolt I saw the alternator move and the belt was still loose. I thought the adjustment arm weld broke loose from the alt/AC mount. The reason for me to think this is because the aftermarket bracket that I had in my hand a few days ago has the adjustment arm welded on. I didn't think to think cast iron at this time. I started removing stuff to get to the AC bracket to try and weld things back together. After I got the radiator out of the way I could see the problem. Talk about being lucky...it sure saved me hours of working in this hot weather. I made it to the show on time with a dirty/non-squeaking car

Swapped the icm again. New ignition switch. New headlight switch. Removed electric choke. 1st crank in about 2 months.
10 mile test run was great...maybe i fixed it.

Took the steering wheel off to recover it with one of the covers that mercgt73 makes for the sport steering wheel with finger grips

I finally got around replacing the clear door glass in the doors with factory tinted glass. Driver’s side went smooth...took maybe 15-20 minutes to complete start to finish. Passenger’s side was another story...took about an hour and a half. Had to cut the rivets out with a Dremel and small cut-off wheel and everything else that could go wrong went wrong. My left hand and wrist looks like I got in a fight with a cat. I now have a complete set of tinted glass on my Maverick

Finished the wiring in the Maverick for the Power Window Conversions .. I opted for the "traditional" look and kept the original window cranks . The last four cars we've finished has this type setup . Push the handle UP 1 inch for raising the windows ..Push the handle DOWN 1" inch for lowering the windows . Also added color-coded insert in the stock handle and chrome turn knob. Lotsa fun at car shows when demonstrating. I'am doing a " step by step" article on my website for these if anyone is interested . Requires some fabrication and drilling.

I like the idea of that but my fear would be someone cranking on them thinking they're manual. Will they hold up to that kind of pressure?

    Not to wo
Not to worry .. Anyone I let ride in my car is advised immediately to NOT try to crank them. Anyway I live in Florida and my AC is always ON so there's no need to try the handle. The handle will only go down or up as far as the switch inside the door will allow it to which is about an inch and no more , it won't turn a complete revolution .
