    Also remember that changing rear shackle length changes pinion angle......................

    I know, but a stock V-8 Maverick spring should not be "already too stiff". Did you put in stiffer than stock springs?

    Nope. I'm talking about removing the originals...

    After the front end rebuild and install of alu headed 5.0 it was approx 1½" higher than prior... I drove it awhile like but it never began to settle, all's good with the 8088 springs...

    I know this is old, but what will that do? I have 5inch shackles and planning on going to stock when I bought calvert split mono leafs

    some people use longer shackles to compensate for sagging leaf springs. if that is the case then no pinion angle change other than getting it back to where it should be.
