I have pulled the heater boxes on several cars , reached in and removed all the pine needles and leaves.
on Patches, I did as Cometized suggested and sealed the cowl.

This is a 2016 Viper Competition Blue color. I'm not sure if it is exactly what I had in mind. Thought it was going to be closer to Grabber Blue . Any input ?

My cowl doesnt leak....but I have been wondering how to clean it out without removing the cover. I also was wondering if there was some way to pour rust converter into it, or spread it through there with a sponge.....how much access is created with heater box removal??? I know this is bordering on a new thread, but curious minds (mine) really, really, want to know.

You can take ospho and use a small tube to pore it in. You can also take a small capful and reach up through the air intake under the dash and pour it around.

    Hi again Stu:
You can clean out the area you've mentioned from the " SIDE " and " Prep" the inner areas of the cowl with a good rust inhibiter ( OSPHO) which is low priced and available at most all ACE Hardware stores .. The OSPHO can be applied with a spray bottle and some cheap paint brushes. After the applications of OSPHO .. let it ' cure ' a few days then apply some POR black paint to the areas you can reach . I have a small clip on the CAMEO website that shows most of the steps I've described if you'd care to peruse the article. The website is www.cameoclub.com in the Restomod/Improvements file. Click on that if you'd like to see more. This forum also has articles on dealing with the same subject which would help you immensely . I wish you success on whichever steps you take .

Polished front bumper, painted "rusty" side with POR15. Soaked bolts and brackets in a concrete mixing tub with 3 gallons of white vinegar to de-rust.

Why didn't you just notch the fenders on both sides like on small bumper fenders?

I dont know how the small bumper fenders are notched....and I thought I had less material to remove the way I did it. I was afraid too cut too much, so I paid for that with filing, but I got a nice fit in the end.

Will be doing this when I can afford the right stuff to seal it (not to mention I can always use Por15 practically every where else on the car) and I Definitely will be without cowl vents :D because once it's sealed they will be welded and I have been figuring out possible ways to seal the wiper posts when they're not in use but can be quickly when they're needed.

Sandblasting brake calipers today :spam: I hate it but the white metal parts are coming out purrrtay for just having a rattle can primer and silver metallic paint sprayed on'em
