i lost a rod!!

    I can't get it out with the magnet. It's stuck good. Any thoughts

    turn the engine over, if it doesn't fall on through or nothing hits it leave it in there...JMO

    Murphy's law at work.. I think if you can't get it out of there you will need to pull the engine and get the pan off to get it loose.

    Do you happen to know the sequence for putting the rocker arm assembly back on?

    I don't remember the torque specs, but I do remember it was from the center out. We looked up the specs at the time in an old book.

    Per the 1971 Ford shop manual, 30-35ft lb, tighten two turns at a time till the whole assembly has seated then torque... As far as order, just says tighten two turns at a time in sequence... As long as you don't go crazy(more than two turns at a time), order isn't important...
