Absolutely! I have a low mile 5.0 with roller cam out of a Bronco but this came up and I couldn't resist. It's all used but I'm getting it from a very good friend that, doesn't do things half way. He's liquidating inventory so he can buy a Boss block for his Fox Mustang, the car runs 11.20 with a Vortec blower on the 180,000 mile stock bottom end. This is the current motivator to work on the car again, looking forward to getting it home so I can sit and stare at it!

Got the stinky carpet out and in the trash. Already smells better. My wife is almost excited as I am about this project.

Well after working on the car off and on for a couple months changing gears, changing valve body, changing headers, changing starter, changing shocks, changing alternator, painting various parts and doing a Taurus fan install I finally got to the point that I was able to start the car and test everything. Let the car sit and idle until temp came up to 200 then the fan kicked in on low and took temp down to 170 and turned off, just a little on the high side from what the switch in thermostat housing was rated at to kick in 195. I then flipped the on off on switch to high and temp just kept going down, temps were not very warm outside but just sitting and idling it would have heated up before so I am very pleased with the outcome.

I highly recommend the Taurus fan mod its not that expensive to do and hopefully wont leave you stuck along side the road waiting for your car to cool down and moves a lot of air when you are at a stand still. I am going to get a couple spare parts such as the fan relay but in a jamb you can jury rig it to work as long as the fan does not die.

The one problem I encountered was all the wiring that had to hook up to the starter solenoid hot side, I have 6 separate wires that hook up to it, so I made a little copper bar and bolted 3 wires at one point and 3 more at another hole that I drilled in the copper bar. Looking for a cleaner way to do it any body else ever run into this problem ? Any ideas to cure it ?

Wires at the starter solenoid are battery hot, alternator hot, fusible link, stereo amp, starter hot (high torque mini starter) hot for Taurus fan. I already have 2 wires that hook to the battery terminal clamp MSD 6AL and stereo memory

Hi Mike, what I did was I found a power bar with 6 terminals on it. I wired a 10 ga. wire from the batt. to one end and hooked my accessories to the other 5. it's mounted to the frame next to the starter. I looked for a pic but I can't see it in any of my motor pics. I guess I hid it pretty well...LOL

Picked up my engine and transmission after work. The transmission is a TR3550, not TKO, I knew that and have no idea why I typed TKO in my previous thread. Before I get to spend any time play around with those I need to finish a couple items on the Firebird so we can send it don the road. After that I will paint my Harley and it too might find a new home, that's money that could really move the Maverick forward (Harley sale).

I just test fit my stock 3 core radiator with upside down Taurus fan attached. It hits the bottom pulley (3 belt pulley). I need to switch it out for a two belt pulley. I dont have AC, just used that pulley because it worked. I had to move the radiator 1 inch to the passenger side to miss the water pump pulley. I better find out which way the engine moves when it grunts.
