Your converter stall speed has nothing to do with how far the RPM drops between gears, This would be caused by transmission gear spacing. Are you running a stock ratio C4 in your car or does it have a wide ratio gear set?

My C4 is stock,, i was told if I went to like a 4500 stall the rpm would not drop as much .? Not sure... maverick 306 I ran 389 gears and 430 gear ,my car had almost the same 60 foot,,

The only time a Converter would effect the RPM during a gear change would be if the Converter was So loose that it is slipping during gear changes, if this is happening it will kill your top end speed!
