This intake set up is costing more than I was planning for. I had to cut costs and install a stock set of 5.8 f150 exhaust manifolds I have, just flipped sides. Lots of room for the turbo up front with minimal accessories. 20180118_1741571.jpg

I like the way you think. That thing is going to be epic.

I made a little more progress and successfully can close the hood now. I cleaned up the top flange on my Edelbrock low profile elbow and installed a few boost ports, had to use their fuel rails as well. The good news is all this fits under the stock hood. Now the tb won't clear in it's factory orientation I may have to rotate it as shown.

Interesting, my knowledge of how turbos work and what all is needed to make it all work is limited so I will be watching and learning. What compression ratio are you running , what size turbo are you putting on it, what increase in power can you gain from using better flowing exhaust manifolds ( headers) how are you controlling ignition timing. Cant wait to see how it all gets plumbed in

I had this set up in my previous car, except prior I was using the on3 headers and making 480rwhp on 10psi with a small on3 76/65 turbo. I will be using the on3 cold side, but have to redo the hotside to get my turbo on the drivers side. I am just using a stock mustang a9l computer and stock ignition system. The turbo this time will be an on3 78/75 and I still plan to run 10 psi on pump gas as without a bar 11.5 is all I can run anyway. The 351w is stock with I think around 8.8 compression and cast pistons right out of a 95 f150

Is this setup expected to make more than 480 rwhp?

I suspect the turbo upgrade will free up some hp as the 76/65 I had on prior was struggling starting at 5500 rpm and that's where I was shifting because of it. Hopefully I am over 500 rwhp with the new 78/75 turbo at the same 10psi boost. I will always be able to up the boost and add methanal injection if I want more, although I have a 700rwhp fox for that. My intent was for a budget build on the Maverick, but with the aje setup I kinda missed that target. How much hp are you putting down to run an 11.49?

480 rwhp. I was wondering if the turbo route would end up cheaper than an NA setup

Hello I'm looking at installing a turbocharger into my 72 Ford Maverick 302, would this setup work for that engine?

It's looking like the on3 cold side will work out after trimming a couple pieces. I will be making my own hotside as the on3 hotside places the turbo where the battery is, I don't think it would fit anyway, even if I relocated the battery. For a 302, I would think a set of bbk short header flipped would work nice or even stock mustang headers if you don't want to use the stock Maverick ones that is. I don't know of a prefab turbo kit myself but I'm new to Mavericks

There are a couple companies that makes a turbo setup where the turbo mounts in the back of the car. Then there are just two tubes that run to the engine.

I like all the extra room with those shock towers so how do you like the aje suspension? Ive heard weld quality is not so great but man it sure opens things up & its got to be lighter

I find the AJE products a great value for the cost. There is a little weld splatter and no its maybe not perfection, but great weld penetration and strength which is most important to me. Have a look at this... maverick build 035.JPG
