    :Welcome:...:Handshake:
being 4 lug makes it a little harder to do a V8 swap.
do you know the size of the 6 banger? (170-200)
the door plate will give you most of the specs of the car when new.

    A V6 has the cylinders in a V shape.

The door tag should be on your driver's door. The picture you posted is from the passenger side.

Could be a bad starter solenoid/ bad starter...Start by checking your battery cables and connections. Make certain battery has a full charge...Just cause its new don't mean its fully charged. Seen that a time or three!!! Sounds like a bad connection,be it ground or power. Don't throw parts at it yet. Just cause it wont start does not mean you have a bad alternator...
PS: Post up your vin # That will help nail down the engine size your car came form the factory with.

Can toss alt into street & assuming charged battery, engine should still crank...

As mentioned could be battery, cables, solenoid, starter or even ign switch... But not alt...

Since you are new here...and new to Mavericks.....let's start here: The knowledge you lack will have to be substituted with paying someone to do all the work to this car. I can tell from your questions you have very little, if any, mechanical experience. Unless you have a lot of cash, I think this car will be a lot of frustration in your life.

My first suggestion is to access exactly what your goals are with this car. Total Restoration? Daily driver? Get it running/driving good enough to sell it? Etc.

This is the best post in the thread --IMO! Craig "hit the nail, solidly on the head". Lot's of GearHeads in the California; be a good idea to go to some of the places they hang out and try get some help. Otherwise, your fighting a steep-up hill battle.

Everett, I think you would agree that being at others hands building a Maverick is a very slippery slop...:yup:
