Hi guys my Current engine swap , was from a 200 inline 6/ c4 combo. I dropped in a stroker built by Ben alameda, an a 4 speed toploader rebuilt with the road race kit, by David kee. I’m running an 11 inch diaphragm race clutch The z bar is from Auto Krafters Since the og one was toast My problem is the roller bushings that I bought from Auto Krafters Are very very flimsy Two piece with a “A looking clamp” I have the threaded boss on the side of the engine for a roller plastic bushing an one on the side of frame So far I’m pulling my hair out , trying to get it right. On a different thread , I got a solution for my z bar rod. But this is the other issue.

Here are some photos , sorry for the delay, the holidays set me back. But I did get my manual pedals installed . Thank you again to the forums it really helped on that part . The very last one is a pic I pulled off here on the forums. Of the other side of the mount, mine is still mounted on the car, I’m going to have to remove , the master cylinder ; to access it .
The original factory engine side mount is that "ball end" type as seen in your last picture, it uses those 2 piece bushings that wrap around the ball stud, it is secured by that "A" wire clip into 2 holes, which are located top and bottom on the Z bar. I am not sure if the Auto Krafters Z-bar has these 2 holes, as the stud that comes with it looks like ones used for early Mustangs. So long as that Auto Krafters engine side pivot stud/bushing fits nicely into the end of the Z bar, everything should be fine. Like the original, the Z bar can be separated into 2 halves, by removing the bolt to help ease installation. Be sure to lube those bushings with chassis grease, good luck! David

In the 2nd picture, there is the correct larger diameter nylon bushing for our Z-bar, however that frame side bracket is for early Mustangs, which has a smaller diameter stud.......... I'll see if I can dig out my OEM frame side bracket and take some pictures or if another member can do the same.......... David
I’ll have to see if someone on here is willing to sell one . I’m so close to getting this old Mav on the road
Here is a break down on the original Ford part numbers for those bushings: C5AZ-7543-D Ball Stud bushing halves, 2 required C1AA-7543-A Frame side bracket bushing D0ZZ-7K530-A Rubber seal, frame side bracket 351517S Felt Washer, ball stud I am sure you will find the correct frame side bracket on this forum, post an ad in the wanted section....... David Here is picture of frame side bracket and Z-bar, I installed grease fittings so it could be lubed, I believe the bracket is specific to our Mav/Comet only.........
If you have access to a lathe or a machine shop it is quite easy to make a stud for the frame side mount and then you could use the larger bushing that you have. If you look it is just a stud cut down a bit for the ball and then A groove for the C clip.
