Maybe consider a new set of Dynacorn hinges. Hood looks great...

well crap. i bought NEW intake bolts from summit and just snapped one off in the head. the last pull on a 25ftlb bolt and it snapped. im debating on whether to see if it leaks or just go ahead and redo it. i thought it felt mushy around 20lbs but i never thought a bolt at 25 would break from summit. now i know why people use apr. its a middle bolt so im hoping the pressure from the rest of the good bolts holds it and i used a paper thin layer of red rvt as always on an intake.

    its an edelbrock performer.
    thoughts??

i was THAT CLOSE TO BEING PERFECT! arrrgrgggg!!

Now is the time to replace that intake bolt not when the engine is in the car. Even if the intake does not leak I guarantee you are going to lose some sleep thinking about that broken off manifold bolt you left on your engine. Others may not notice the broken bolt but you know it is there waiting for you to correct the mistake!

A Performer RPM intake would have been a better choice than the Performer. The Performer isn't much better than the stock intake, just a little less weight.

Yep. Already pulled it back off. Its eating at me so I'm just going to redo it. Bolt didnt actually break but the thread popped and was at its limit. All came out easy. Just gotta clean up and do it after work today.

The Performer is gonna run fine. I had a Performer. I replaced it with a Performer RPM and noticed no difference in power. Unless you're turning 6000+ RPM, you're not gonna need a Performer RPM.

Yes it will and has. This is what I replaced the stock manifold with 22yrs ago. I just cleaned it up and painted it. A very low budget engine swap is all I'm doing until I can get what I really want in a few years.

The neat thing is, ill get to see how this exact engine set up pulls in the 2500lb maverick vs a 3800 lb 70 f100. This will be fun.
