It is, and I’m picking up the carbon hood this morning. Will have a Comet GT scoop instead of the Boss 429.
Picked up a carbon fiber standard hood from the previous owner, will mount the comet GT scoop on that. I must say I’m impressed with the quality of the hood, will weigh it to check the delta later today. The finish is like a mirror, but I personally don’t like that it’s glossy. I might spray some flat clear over it to match the rest of the car.
Yes sir, I almost cut it off when I was originally doing it with the turbo stuff..... One of these days I am probably going to need some more tire room in the back, but it hasn't had a spinning problem so far.....
New flat carbon hood is exactly half the weight of the OEM flat hood. 18lbs vs 36lbs. Not a huge difference, but where I want to remove weight. Scored the hood for $200. Will add the Fiberglass Comet GT scoop over the hole cut by the previous owner. Plenty of hood clearance with the Victor intake and Nitrous Outlet stinger in place.
Frank, check out my post on moving caltracs inbd for more tire clearance. This would be even more effective with a mini-tub. http://mmb.maverick.to/threads/moving-springs-inbd-for-additional-tire-clearance.119746/
I have read it..... I have also talked to Mike a little when he been to Bradenton for NMRA..... I did not know he had patterns for that stuff..... I don't think it would be that hard to fab up, but if it's cost effective there's no reason to reinvent the wheel.....
Seems to work pretty well for him, I’ll let you know how the install goes. I like the adjustability it adds, as well as the additional clearance on the inbd side of the rear tire.
