Decided to clean up my tail lights and replace the gaskets. I bought the ones from Melvins...have to say that the foam is a little less spectacular than the original stuff and seems to be a little thinner as well. I'm hoping it will still seal.
Also sanded down the housings and painted them.

I installed my header bolts. I forgot that I had to remove a broken exhaust bolt from my junkyard heads which in turn lead to ruination of enough threads that the header bolt couldnt start. So, cut the head off a longer bolt to make a stud, and used that. 2 hours to bolt up headers and then it started raining.

Got real close to being finished with welding the tunnel back in. Have a couple small spots left and knocking down the welds.

Saw a shirt once that I should have, says "master welder" with welder crossed out followed by grinder.

After several hours worth of gas welding on my exhaust system, I turned a corner and my welds graduated from craggy mountains to rolling hills. I still will not weld anything that requires true structural integrity though.

My partial front-end rebuild continues. Had trouble getting old shocks to play nicely with the new spring perches (angled differently). Hoping "good-enough-for-government-work" is good enough. MOOG strut-rod bushings look very nice. A different design than the original, which is different that what they'll hand you at your local Napa. The passenger-side original bushings had been installed backwards compared with the orientation of passenger side. These were the OEM bushings so this might have been done at the factory. Apparently, it doesn't make a huge difference.

Mine is more of a fitment and metal quality issue. I think I have it trimmed just right and I missed or I think I am back to good solid metal and it's still a little thin. Sheet metal is just not my favorite thing to weld, thankfully I don't have a lot of practice with it!

I keep hearing about the "improved" Moog bushings. What's different about them? I'm not questioning that they're better, I'd just like to know.
