I have a set of used Yokohama H rated P205 60 R15 tires. I noticed in the tire and rim section that a common rim for a rear tire on Mavericks is an 8 inch with a 3.5 to 4.25 inch rear back spacing. I also noticed that an 8 inch rim is pretty much as wide as you want to go with 205 60 R15 tires. I was thinking of choosing 7 inch rims for the front and 8 inch rims for the back and using my P205 60 R15 tires on all for corners with a plan to purchase 275 60 R 15’s for the rears, down the line. Think this would work? Thanks.

Thanks David. Since the 205’s are a given, it seems they recommend the 7 inch rim being the maximum width, so that works for the front but not for 8 inch rear rims. So if I stayed with 7 inch rims on all four corners the site recommends a maximum with of 255 mm if I buy a set of rears later on; still not bad but not as cool as 275 mm. From from a practical stand point what is the maximum width for rear tires on a Maverick without any fender rolling or any other mods? Thanks guys.

The tire size for a given rim-width is pretty much dictated by the tire's aspect ratio. You can put a 235-60 on a 7-inch rim, but a 235-45 requires at least a 8-inch rim. You can put a 265-60 on a 8-inch rim, but a 265-45 needs at least a 9-inch rim...

I very recently replaced the front rims with 7 inch diameter and 4 inch backspace. The fronts are 235/60 15, they do not rub and required no modification. The rears are 255/60 15 and fit without problem.
