I don't know if they're better, but they're made of quality materials and "look" like they should work better than the one I took back to Napa. We shall see after I align it.

Here's the instructions that came with mine.

thanks...doesn't one of the cup washers look opposite of the other one? if so...why would it be?
my set must have had the cups facing out on all four.

Has anyone tried the Global West high durometer bushings? https://www.globalwest.net/srb-5.html

In principle at least looks like a good compromise between the stock, somewhat soft bushings and the very expensive aftermarket strut rods which use a ball joint or heim joint to replace the strut rod bushings.

Placed the fuel injection and ran the wiring into the car as I want to hide all those wires as much as possible, upon inspecting the wiring and figuring out where I’m going to make my wire taps I realized I really need to redo the wiring i did when I was 17, so I spent most of the day cutting out buttsplice connectors and traced all wires to make sure they are in good shape, once finished I made all the connections I needed for the fuel injection. Tomorrow I will hopefully have everything tucked up under the dash and tidy

Installed my new KYB shocks on the rear. Now I need to do the fronts but after installing a lot of aluminum on the engine I need to cut another half coil out of the front springs.

Just went through this one. the paper instructions say front where the front isnt. It doesnt mean the front is where its printed on the paper but rather where the arrow is pointing to. Several members pointed out to me they looked backwards. They were. The rear washer is the one that doesnt cup the bushing.

Took the not-four-years-old NPD reproduction copper-brass radiator out because it blew a top seam. Local shop brazed the entire top tank but screwed up the paint so I had to strip the top tank and repaint. Found that the VHT Ceramic SP139 "GM Satin Black" is a good match that has good adherence to copper-brass. 2020-05-09 08.11.38.jpg 2020-05-21 13.35.51.jpg

my regulator wasn't holding pressure when the key was shut off. it would just dump the pressure to 0 PSI. on fuel injection that makes for a hard quick restart.
I pulled the reg. and when I broke the adjusting nut loose I heard a click. I'm thinking the valve was stuck. so I disabled and lubed it up real good and put it back on. it works great so far. even the vac assist is working like it should.
May have saved $150 if this works.

Hey Everett! I got it off of Amazon, though some of the parts houses can get it. Eastwood makes a great product for this, but it's on back order across the country until late June. The important thing is that it's thin, goes on thin, and doesn't kill the thermal efficiency.

Knocked off the last of the undercoating in the passenger wheel tub and front apron. All that is left is the drivers side apron. Started this mess four years ago, had a move between and a stretch where work was dragging me down that I made no progress but we're fullish steam ahead now!

Installed my new rear side marker lights. I ordered them from my local Torino/Fairlane supplier because they are the same part and were less than trying to buy them for a Maverick. Funny thing is when you look online another company has the same part number for the Fairlane and Maverick but it has a higher price on the Maverick part.

Did it come with gaskets for the housings? I do not remember but I dont believe Melvins has the rear marker gaskets available.
