I have a 1976 Comet 4 speed manual with disk brakes front and back. I was wondering if it was possible to add a power brake booster to a manual transmission.

If you have room for booster and enough engine vaccum, shouldn't be a problem.

I heard that with manual transmission there may be not enough vacuum is there something I could add to ensure proper vacuum

Manual transmission has no bearing on vaccum; many cars w/ manuals have boosters. Vaccum is dictated for the most part on camshaft/engine timing. AFAIK.. Aftermarket vaccum boosters can be installed to increase vaccum. It's possible you have enough to operate vac system, unless you have big cam. I'm not sure what min. vac required to op. the system properly, but, I'm sure someone will chime w/ more knowledge than me. Also, info can most likely be sourced from some of the performance brake websites.

FYI: FACTORY power disc brake booster will not work on a manual transmission car. The clutch pedal rod is in the way.
