Are you sure u got a rebuilt motor? or a repainted used motor?

Mechanic possibly forgot or too lazy to torque heads is my assumption.

We torqued the heads down with a torques wench, but the wench could have been out of spec. The motor looked clean through and through and bored .040 with fresh cylinder walls.

It was a victim of circumstances. My cousin was helping build it, then went missing. Long story short, it didnt turn out well and it was discouraged from getting the car back.

Fresh antifreeze contains a rust inhibitor, even if gasket did leak it should not have rusted.

Well water got in somehow then. This is where its at and now its time to deal with it. Since its pitted I assume i would have to bore the cylinders? Since its already .040 ovee is there much left to bore?
I have the chance to get a 200 ready to go with dual outler headers and a triple carb offenhouser(?) Intake.
