There was a member TOPORANGER who used to fabricate Monte Carlo and Export Brace bars for our Mav/Comets, but I do not know if he is still making them or not. He has not been on the site for a couple of years, but you can try and PM (start conversation) him, as he would get a direct email notification without having to be on this site........ Others, including myself, have used ones for 65-70 Mustangs and modified them to fit, good luck! David
Here are a couple of pictures of my "modified" bar, I can not remember, but I think I had to lengthened, been over 30 years since I did this! I used the "curved" bar to clear the distributor on our 302's, pretty simple mod and then you have to drill a few holes to install the bar. David
Fabricate your own. Draw , figure out what you want it to look like n what you want it to help. Any good local speed shop should be able to weld it for ya. Had them done for both of my car's fairly inexpensive. My car's are rack n pinion so a little easier to Fab up.
I had mine made by that member many years ago. It was shaped to clear the factory A/C compressor. Wish he still made 'em because I'd like to have one made of a stronger tubing...
I really like what you've done here. Diagonally bracing the front fenders to the core support can add a lot of strength to a front end. While they're obviously built entirely differently, front fender to core support bars are important to front end stiffness of Camaros and Firebirds. Same is true of the inner fenders, even though they bolt on in those cars.
This is a year or more later. Any source for that Monte Carlo bar yet or will I have to show some pictures to my local welder?
Unless the fender apron spacing coincides with the width of one of the early Mustangs I think you're on your own, but it's very basic fabrication.
The Mustang width is slightly more narrow. The reason you can squeeze a bigger engine into a Mustang is because the spring towers don't come in as far as the Maverick...
Delta bay mustang maverick sells one, have not seen one in person so I cannot speak on the quality, I have purchased there other products and have been very happy. https://deltabaymustangmaverick.com...maverick-1970-1977-montecarlo-bar-prime-paint
They also have an Export Brace Bar for our Mav/Comets too! https://deltabaymustangmaverick.com...th-cowl-support-bracket-primer-paint-usa-made David
