Power Trunk Release?...

    Can someone recommend a good power trunk release for Maverick/Comet?...

    One other question; I noticed that Melvins & AutoKrafters list a trunk latch for '70-'72 Mavericks but not '73-'77.
    Is the '73-'77 latch different from the early models?...

    Only difference that I know is the way the lock attaches to the tail panel. 70-73 uses a horseshoe clip and the 74-77 uses a long bracket.

    Does anyone know if one from a '72-'75 Lincoln Continental will work in a Maverick?...

    As i remember it was just a bolt in.But that was about 8 years ago.

    I would have to look at mine to see if the ebay one was right.I had 2 locks and may be confused.I can look at it tomorrow.

    So nearly 2 years later...
    I decided to install the power trunk latch that's been sitting in my toolbox for almost 2 years. It's from a '72-'75 Lincoln. Well, it was a FAIL.
    The latch functions perfectly on the "bench", but soon as it's bolted onto the car, the mechanism will not latch or un-latch. Bolting it in seems to tweak the housing just enough to prevent it from working, which is a real bummer because I really wanted a power trunk release in my Maverick...
