Hey there, just joined this forum. I've had my 1973 v8 Maverick 39 years, my dad bought it new. It had a column shift c4 which I moved to a floor shift way back when I was a kid. Anyway, I want to convert to a manual, maybe t4, so I'm looking for any direction for this other then the tremec conversion kits? Again, it has a c4 auto, so I would need everything. Thanks, Mark
Hello Mark : Welcome to the forum ! I HAVE a T5 Five Speed Tranny that is in good condition when I took it out . I replaced a T5 AND 5.0 Fuel Injection Setup in my 70 Maverick NEW and I have the working tranny I removed on my garage floor. If you're interested I'd take $ 1100.00 for it Plus Shipping from Deland, Florida . Lemmeno . Cometized Chip
Hi Mark, welcome to the forum! You can also check out this site for more information on T5 conversions........ call Bruce, he has helped many of our members, myself included, going hydraulic will eliminate many of the hard to find mechanical linkage etc.........good luck! https://www.moderndriveline.com/ Also, check your pedal support bracket to see if it has 5/8" shaft with "red" clip securing it on the end, if this is what you have, then installing Clutch Pedal/Brake assemble will be easy. If you have a shaft with bolt and nut, then you will have to swap out the pedal support bracket....... If you can post a picture of your current pedal set up, I can let you know if you can use your existing brake pedal, or if you have to locate correct one for going manual, Modern Drive line has clutch pedal that you can use if you are going hydraulic, otherwise you may have to post ad in "wanted" section for Clutch Pedal etc.... David
Swapping in a T5 from a Fox body Mustang is the popular conversion for a V8. Here’s some information on converting your auto pedal assembly to a cable operated clutch. http://mmb.maverick.to/threads/t5-cable-operated-clutch-pedal-conversion.118710/
