Vibration damper, Knock it off and keep on trucking. Best would be install solid U joints & have assembly balanced.

Been working with Walter Federline (Federline Products) the past year on his Billet Aluminum Hood Hinges for our Mav/Comets and I finally got his prototype installed. He may perform some "minor tweaking" based on my test/trial fitment prior to full production, but they are great! If you are interested, message me and I will pass along Walt's information, he already produces same billet hinges for other classic Fords. Incorporates a self locking device so you can eliminate the hood prop rod.........

I got under the Mav with it on ramps and used a remote starter button to a rotate the crankshaft pulley and harmonic balancer. I wanted to have a good look at the markings. I plan to use a piston stop and locate the exact TDC. Just waiting it to arrive. Once I confirm the harmonic balancer agrees with the mark, I‘ll check the timing. The photo is underneath the car looking upward at an angle from the passenger side.

Removed Flex-a-Lite 118 slim line fan after going dead coming from Friday cruise night. I noticed temp gauge 220 and climbing, shut her down 240+, puked about quart coolant. Fan approaching 12 years, guess it served well all things considered for aftermarket unit. I'm not testing the fan too see if it drew enough current to melt a 30a fuse. I made a setup 10 years ago I could remove fan w/o removing radiator -- Glad I did.
Replacing controller w/ same setup on car now -- want to get it back in service. Fan and controller arrives this coming Wednesday.
What really pissed-me-off, Hagerty drivers club recovery service vehicle took 2+ hours to come to my aid after texting me several times - on the way. I got to think, I may not renew that service next renewal season. Should'nt have took that long in metro Chicago area.

Noticed my transmission was leaking a bit. Replaced the stock pan with a nice aluminum one and replaced the shifter shaft seals while I was inside the transmission. Put it all back together….still leaking. Found out when I had my transmission rebuilt 8 years ago they never replaced the upper O rings on the transmission cooler lines. Had to drop the transmission down a bit, put on new O rings and now leak free.

I like to paint the timing mark area white and then sand it off so only the numbers are painted. Makes it very easy to see with the timing light.

Met up with a guy fellow car guy who’s family used to run a junk yard in Iowa. Found a few nice surprises in his piles and made a deal. B6CE54F1-AC97-4162-A47D-35CB395B18FB.jpeg

My coworker found out I had a maverick and gave me the a promo model and brochure for the Ford dealers from 1970. Take a read of the brochure from the pictures. Kind of funny.

Installed new electric fan, direct replacement for one removed. Had issue two weeks ago , fan quit, leaving me summoning recovery vehicle, luckily I was on lightly traffic street. 30 amp fuse melted , not sure why, possibly fan drawing much more current than fuse could handle or something shorted in E controller. Anyway, replacing all of it, hopefully eliminate it happening again anytime soon. I,m going to test old fan to see if drawing enough to kill 30 amp. fuse. Hopefully, get electrics installed tomorrow and get back on road.
