Was cleaning up parts to get them ready for the spring reasembly and decided to get to some small interior bits. The dome light lens had the heat burn from those hot dome light lamps. So was pretty frustrated finding a replacement. Found that if you do a general search, not maverick specific, they are out there for well under $10 delivered. The dome/map light assembly was used for a lot of years and appears to have been universal across the models.

My chrome piece has some pitting and rust, but I think it should clean up. LED lamps are in the works to prevent the burn on the replacement.

The dome light skid mark is very prevalent and one of the reasons I swapped to LED. I think you will be pleased.

My strip model did not come with the LDO light. I had to modify the roof mount to get it to work. Thankfully, I grabbed the wiring harness too. So it all plugged in. I went with LEDs too. It is a much nicer light that the poverty dome light that she came with. They did use them on several models. I use to see them in the junk yard all the time.

Hmm, I ordered it and will update on its fitment as soon as it arrives.

Here is the one I ordered.

If it doesn't work, I wonder if the screw holes on the chrome part are the same with the newer ones. Mine isn't in great shape, so I may try to find a newer one that the lens will fit and see if it will go on my base. Or find one with the base and see if it will match up to the wiring. The power was quite interesting. The ends of the wires snap into holes, and the screws that hold the base make contact with the leads, and hold up the base all in one step.

    Whoohoo.. Fit perfect.

Just to close this out if anyone reads this in the future and wants to update to the map light, I attached a pic of the wiring. If you get a salvage yard light, definitely grab the pigtail as it is used for supporting the light (like a drywall anchor does) as well as powering it.

I will add to this for those who have earlier models. You will need to cut two squares into the roof brace to allow for the electrical connection mount.
