It powered a Sherman tank! That is so cool and it was made in the 40's. To think, it took ford how many more years to just make a ohv engines for cars? Yet a tank had a DOHC before WWII.

Leno bought this car from the Blastoline Bros. They build these big cars. Last year they built a 50's Indy roadster look alike.

GM changed the trans to an Alison auto with O/D and then Leno sent it to Banks. He also chromed and polished a lot of the car. He cruises this thing every once in a while. He brought it to a cruz night in Burbank and it would barely fit in the driveway.

you are all forgetting one important thing.. with an engine that big, it has to be able to slow down, and maverick brakes wont cut it.. lol

oh and one more thing.. the weight would literally make the ass end come off the ground..

So with 1100 cu" in a zero point stock form you have 600 hp? Is that engine streetable in any application? You have to have 42 inch slicks to be able to keep from spinning the tires off.
Do you think I can get one in basic Ford blue?

It's peak torque is around 2500 rpm.
    1200 ft/lbs IIRC...
You would need some serious slicks to get it to hook.

If it were a perfect world, money no issue, I would get a set of cams ground for it that would raise the peak rpm to around 5k.
That would also serve to put the HP closer to, if not over, 1 HP per cube.

You might be surprised that it doesn't weigh a whole lot more than a stock 460 or FE!
As it is installed in the tank, it is 960 pounds!
In theory you could shave that down some.
Sounds heavy, but not really considering it's size.

    On another subject:
I found some images that give a clue to the stock carb.
It's hard to tell exactly, but it looks like a MONSTER 2v carb.
The throttle bores look like they are 3" or 4" each!
