:drive: This is a small show in southeast Georgia, right on the state line at Florida off of I 95. It is on Saturday March 17th. Here is a link to the Car Council Show Page: http://www.carcouncil.org/shows.htm
and here is a link to the flyer: http://www.carcouncil.org/2007_flyer_CLR_A.pdf I have already mailed my registration in. It is $20 up to March 1st and $25 after that up to the day of the show. I believe they are doing a cruise on Friday night before the show. IF any one is interested in going, let me know and we can try to get a block of parking spaces by showing up at the same time. This is their second year of having a show and the first year was pretty decent. Also the first 100 registered get a goody bag, and that too, last year was good, it included a t-shirt and some Maguire products and of course a lot of the local business cards and products. Any takers let me know. I know there were some pics of the Oklahoma mini meet in the last issue of the MCCI, maybe we can beat that by having at least 4 cars!

Kingsland (and St. Marys), GA is as far away as you can get from Atlanta and still be in GA. The nuclear submarine base is in Kingsland.

They are signs on I-95 saying that's the exit for the Kings Bay Naval base. Right now the signs are in English, but any day now they will also be in Arabic.

:thumbs2: Good point! And Kingsland (and St. Marys), GA should be VERY THANKFUL for it. As far as Atlanta goes, been there got the T-shirt and bailed as fast as I could! And I, too, and THANKFUL for it as well!!!

But does it mean you are going to make the trip or not???:hmmm:

You missed the point. It's just that with the changing of the guard, so-to-speak, in DC, the politically correct environment, and our reluctance to really the name terrorists, it would not surprise me to see the locations of our military installations printed in Arabic.

I'm am completely confident in the ability of the SE GA and NW FL boys to hold their own.:thumbs2:

I doubt I will make that show. That's a hard trip to do in one day.

Ok, I guess I can accept that, but I don't think we will be speaking Arabic sooner than we will speaking Spanish like it is in Miami. As to making the trip, looks like it is a tad under 300 miles, would have to leave a bit early Saturday morning, or come down Friday for sure. Admittedly I would have a hard time coming down for a local show that was that far away, but I would still think about it! :drive: I LOVE driving my Maverick. I did 3 shows in three consecutive weekends last year, first was in Fernandina Beach, FL, the second was in Oklahoma City, OK and the third was right in my home town. That, my friend was driving the wheels off of it! And, yes I would do it all over again!

    Frank,

:bananaman Looks like you are between me another guy here on the forums, mleega1, he is in Warm Springs, just bought a set of Stallion buckets from him just before Christmas. There are sitting at my friend's upholstery shop getting some new (and old) skins put on them. Hoping to have them in before the Kingsland show. Taking my vinyl off of my original bench and having part of it used on the buckets so it will still match the back seats. I got lucky in the fact I have two 74 cars and they both have the same front bench seat and material. I have been using the Comet's bench in the Maverick until I get my buckets back.
As far as a meetup, I am up for that. I know there are several shows in Southern GA that got to be close enough for us both to get to. Question, do you ever go to the Moultrie swap meets? If so we could do a meet up there as well, it is HUGE and you better have good walking shoes. The one back in November my son and I went and we walked for 8.5 hours that day, we stopped for about 20 minutes to grab a quick bite for total of about 9 hours there, and we did NOT see it all.

    Frank,

Sounds good to me. I believe it's just around the corner here in March. Change that, I just googled Spence Field and they do not have any car stuff on the calendar for March. Previously they are the week before the Daytona shows, both spring and turkey rod. That or they haven't posted it yet, but as close as it would be, it should already be on the calendar. I will check some more next week when the Moultrie Chamber of Commerce is open.

Let's stay in touch on this.

The big Moultrie Swap Meet was last weekend (Feb 2-4). The next one will the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Wow, didn't know that they moved it up. Guess my crew will have to wait to go in November. That stinks, for lack of a better term.

The Moultrie Swap Meet is always the weekend before Daytona Speed Weeks and the weekend before Thanksgiving and the Turkey Rod Run. I missed going last week because I thought it was this weekend. I think the Daytona events were moved up one week for this year.
