Looks about right. A Comet tearing up the track and chirping brodies all over the place. Wicked fine car. Just incredible.

love both of 'em. the first car I've seen in person. it's awesome. all of the nighttime clips are at my local dragstrip, shadyside, in boiling springs, nc. Note the hard left turn at the end. Seen a few pro-mods and REALLY fast cars not quite make it. Seen a 86 or 87 camaro with a 434 or something cut down a few trees. Nitrous bottles exploding and everything. It was bad. Kinda glad they're redoing that place.:)

Hi guys, that is great. I loved the videos. I have seen Derek's car on youtube before. I love the sound. As for the other comet with the 347, it was great to see the wheel stands. I was looking for sparks off the rear bumper on the one wheelie! sweet ride. Derek, I ran a 91 5.0 in my first comet. I took off the serpetine belt drive and bolted up my '73 front end(waterpump, pulleys, power steering, and alternator.) then dropped on top the 1985 intake and carb. from the mustang. I put the stock exhuast manifolds and put them on the new motor. I thought that the headers wouldn't fit. I kept the C-4 and got a new smaller flywheel and had it balanced to 91 specs. Then I put a shift kit in the tranny. ( I was toasting it really quickly otherwise) Just never changed the rear end. The 8 inch held up fine, just no posi. After seeing these videos it just gets me going again. I really would love to modify my current comet. How did you do the swap of the T-5 how did it fit, and pedals and everthing? Did you make new cuts in the firewall for the clutch pedal? Did the driveshaft from the stang just bolt up? Did it have to be shortened or is it the same lengths as the stock comet drive shaft? Any more info like that would be great.

The t5 fits good in my '74 gt. as far as switching the pedals, all hangers should be the same. slide out your brake pedal and slide in the new clutch and brake pedal. you should have a fact. hole in your firewall you can knock-out or you can drill one for your clutch linkage, or you can make a cable set-up work. my driveshaft is a stock mustang one and it fits fine. there are several lengths to these though depending on which car you get it from. i use a t5 bellhousing but converted over to the old style mechanical linkage and fork. My comet is a blast to drive with the t5 and I would recommend the swap to anyone.:thumbs2:
