I love tis thread since I'm putting a T5 in my GT. I have one out of a 93 Cobra so it should be plenty for the motor I plan on building. For a shifter, I bought a factory NOS 3 speed shifter from Green Sales. My GT was a factory floor shifter and I kinda like that look. I will make my own mount to attach it to the T5. This way it will look like a factory 3 speed when done. I find it interesting how some have "bolt in" experiences, where others have to modify. I had to reshape the tunnel. (http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=36382 post #79) My stock crossmember worked but I had to extend the holes and notch it to clear the bell on the trans to slide it forward enough to bolt up. I havent decided on the clutch linkage yet. I used an adapter for the trans so I will probably stick with mechanical linkage or go hydraulic so I can use a set of the shorty headers.

I retained my factory mechanical linkage. Used the t5 bellhousing and factory mechanical clutch fork. Just drilled a few holes to put the fork pivot on the driver side and cut off the cable notch on the outside of the bell with a sawzall.:) Works great!

    thanks

you may want to come down here and tell every transmission shop and all the ford dealerships and whoever put the apparently false info on aldata and on mitchell and tell them they are all wrong ..maybe you can use 70 in a nwc but dont tell me im wrong when i know you can use atf and it is highly recommended .

I can tell you for a fact that the SROD 4 speed in my '80 Mercury Capri uses 80wt. gear oil, according to the original owners manual to the car. Lonnie knows what he is talking about.
