You have to have all the original trim and you have to get the fasteners to instal the trim. Which type of top do you want? There is full, 3/4, Halo, and another that I forgot the name. Personally I think the Halo top looks best. Probably the easiest to install if I had to guess, but I don't know that for a fact. The halo top doesn't go all the way to the drip rails, so I would think that would make it a simple install.

Have you thought about getting the trim and then painting the area inside the trim a contrasting color, rather than using actual vinyl? If you aren't careful, a vinyl top can rot your roof. It did mine. My 75 roof is toast due to the Halo top. I think I will just use the trim and paint the roof black, rather than install the black vinyl back... After a 'new' roof is installed.

Well i dont wanna rot my roof... I have ALOT of hail dings in my roof and im patching them, but when i paint it and if they still show up i thought i would just cover it with the vinyal, i like the full roof top. But you gave me something to think about!!!!!

The vinyl top has been on mine since 77. I just tore it off the other day because the vinyl top had it. My roof is perfectly fine. I plan on replacing the vinyl top. I think my 4door wouldnt look the same without it in my opinion.

The reason they rot the roof is, they were not painted fully under the top from the factory, therefore the metal was exposed to the moisture. I have a 74 that had a factory top, and it was fine underneath when I removed it.

My 71 grabber is suppose to have a black vinyl top.. The car's factory color is red, I'm going to put it back to the way the factory did it. My roof is fine as far as rust go's,but ether the factory use a banged up roof or someone did a jig on it cause it is full of bondo. I'm guessing that is why it got the vinyl roof. I will fully paint the roof with the corect red before I put the vinyl on...

How does the vinyl trim connect by the drop rails??? does it just glue down or is there more hardware??
