Yes sir, and he is a very cool guy.....

I thought about building one, but didn't want to put the effort into it..... Then I was talking to my boss and he said I could use this one, and it will make things much easier when working under the car just for then reasons you stated.....



I got all the front suspension and steering removed this morning..... Then I worked on stripping the rear floor area(under rear seat), I think it's easier to do on it's side and it needs to be done before the underside gets painted..... plus I want to make sure every bit of metal possible gets coated with POR15 paint.....

Looks like the floor has only some surface rust. Also, great lookin work so far.

 

Thanks, and yes mostly some light surface rust back there that will be easily taken care of with the Por15.....

I have followed this project of yours from the beggining and it is an insperation to many of us that are in the middle of a maverick or comet project of our own but in my case with time being so short it is difficult to find time to work on my maverick but when after seeing this thread and watching your progress it gives me the extra push that i need to just get off my butt and do it so thank for the insperation and keep it coming you do some amazing work and you fab skills are some of the best i have seen in a long time that will be one awsome mav when it is done. Thank again.

 

Thank you, actually I haven't been getting much done since just before the holidays due to working too much which isn't such a bad thing the way it's been the last couple years..... However I am going to start backing off some on work hours so I can get some work done on this thing.....

 

I got a little more done this morning..... Stripped the inner wheel houses in the rear seat area and started strippint the front of the trunk area.....

 

This is a great build! Been watching from the beginning. Thanks for all the hard work in sharing with us. Looking forward to the rest to come

I finished stripping the inner fenderwells and trunk floor this afternoon(I will do the insides of the quaters when the car is up on the rotissorie and on it's side)..... Let me tell you what a tedious bullshiz job stripping that was..... Next thing is to make a couple adaptor brackets and get it mounted on the rotissorie.....

Here's todays progress(the trunk floor is really solid looking with only a couple very minor surface rust spots starting in the seams under the sealer).....

If you tore it down anymore, you would have to strip it to it's molecules

 

Went down this morning to start getting it ready to go on the rotissorie..... Removed the rear end housing and took out the driver side leaf spring with no issues..... Then the problem comes, the front bolt in the pass side spring is aparrently rusted in the sleeve in the spring bushing..... I got the sleeve to sping in the bushing and managed to get the nut off the bolt, but I can't get the bolt out because it's rusted in the sleeve..... Looks like I am going to have to cut the bolt to get it out, oh happy day..... I did get the rear shackle off the spring so I'll get the can on the rotissorie and turn it on it's side where it will be easier to get at.....

After that adventure, I some pieces of material to adapt the rotissorie..... Next weekend I should be able to get it mounted and start working on the bottom side.....

No pic's today cause there just wasn't really anything to take one of.....

 

I hope to do as well as you have done. That looks like a nice car. was it in running condition when you bought it?

 

It was a running, decent driving car..... I drove it 48 miles home the day I bought it and haven't driven it sense..... and Thanks.....
