Hmm Looks like the pinion seal was leaking just a little bit.

Thank you.....I finally got a little work done at the shop this weekend..... Sat I installed a new air line along the wall along with a nice water seperator/filter, I was tired of plugging directly into the side of the compressor and dragging air hoses all over the place..... Now I have 4 drops along the side wall of my shop which should make things much easier, plus no more fighting with getting water in the line..... I also tore down a C4 trans for a side job I have, got to fund this project somehow.....

After a little clean up Sun morn I finally got back on the car a little..... I cut some rusty seams out of the pass rear fenderwell area at the front and rear where the outer and inner fenderwell panels come together.....

Here is the front seam before I cut it out.....




Here is the same seam after cutting away the unwanted area and cleaning it out, there was alot of loose rust between the gap in the opening here.....




This is the same seam after welding it closed and initial clean up, still a little more to do here.....




Here is the seam in the rear of the opening which is actually where the outer wheel house and inner trunk drop come together.....

Yes sir, it's making the kind of work I did today much easier to get at.....

 

were the drain holes plugged in these areas, mine were from a undercoating that was done right after purchase, thank god it came from Oklahoma where they have better than we get here in indiana.also if you look the rain drip gaurd behind your back side window look and see if there is a gap where it stops and chrome piece from window have a gap in so water runs down over wheel well when it rains or you wash it, beautiful job on repairs, love the rotisserie

 

The drain holes were not plugged and there was no sign of water leaking from th rear 1/4 window area..... Mine just rusted between the overlaping spot welded seams that the tire throws crap at over the years..... and thank you for the compliments.....

 

Whoo hoo!!!!! I finally did something on the car today..... After the trans I just built for someone got picked up I pulled the car away from the wall, I was going over the area of the floor pan I cleaned up I noticed a weld I missed so I cured that problem..... That's about it for now, but one thing is for sure - No more side jobs for a while..... I'm still probably not going to get much done for a couple week though, I will be going to the NMCA race on Sat in Bradenton and the following weekend I'm going to Tenn for 4 days..... After that I really need to get some work done on this thing.....
