I knew it had it in it, I would be willing to bet you will be in the 12s in the 1/4 Glad all you hard work payed off for you. You didnt blow the power steering dip stick out again did you
When you get both start lights on bunp it in 2 or 3 small bumps you will get a better reaction time, always leave the same way just bump in farther or.less To get your reaction time
Takes a seasoned racer to do that without red lighting, especially more than one bump. I use a saying in my head once the first yellow comes on I say ready set go
Next time out I'll try that while watching the tree when someone else is running. See where that would get me going. Definitely have to do something more aggressive at the start to stay ahead of that wicked Trailblazer SS. Guess I didn't know what to expect but I'm really pleased the times are that good with shortie headers, not very aggressive cam and 9:1 compression.
Jim, which shorty headers are you using? I have a set of Heddman 88400's, and they don't fit. Pittman arm hits the tube, too far to dent it in.
Hey Earl. Headers are Doug Thorley shorties. They fit fine although I did eliminate the bell crank for the c4 column shifter. No drop bracket necessary for PS. My pitman arm hits the exhaust pipe but I'm living with it. U-turns to the left can be a problem. Might put a dent in the exhaust pipe some day.
I went with shorties because I didn't want the ground clearance issues. Assumed the shorties would be the limiting factor in engine breathing but just didn't want the exhaust pipes hitting speed bumps. Except for long trips with the wife, I do most of my driving in the Maverick. As it turned out, the 347 breathes well enough to suit me.
