Finished my $5.99 steering wheel makeover. A good cleaning, filled the worst cracks, repaired the contact and added a NOS 80s steering wheel cover. Bling bling :rofl2:

Ordered a GM fuel gauge (0-90 ohm) today to mount under the dash next to my coolant temp gauge. Changed my mind about trying to modify a Ford sending unit and opted just used the sender that came in my fuel cell.

Also ordered a MSD 12v coil and the rest of the parts I need to button up the Duraspark ignition conversion.

That will only leave the exhaust and parking brake left as far as mechanical stuff goes.

Came out nice! That is what I did with my original steering wheel. Sport steering wheel will be going on this time around.

I ordered new ACC 2 piece carpet today and also went ahead and pulled the trigger on 68 Mustang 2" single exhaust. I'm gonna do the exhaust myself since exhaust work costs so much in my area.

Today I also finally made up my mind about what color it is going to be this time....back to the original Pastel Blue. I ordered some paint so I could get the underside of the hood and trunk painted since I've replaced both of them. All of the jambs are still Pastel Blue but need to be redone.

When I was trying to make up my mind on the color I ran across this picture of the pastel blue on a 70 Mustang. Now I'm considering using my frt spoiler and Comet GT hood scoop.

Found the Comet hood scoop I had tucked away....I'm thinking I will use it now. I figure I'd better get the holes drilled before I paint the under side.

When I first read... pastel blue, I questioned it. But that Mustang looks great, I'm sure your car will turn out just as nice!

After starring at the Comet GT hood scoop awhile, I think it would be a shame not to use it. It fits the lines of the hood so nice.

Since it's coming apart next week to start paint and body, I'm trying to plan how I want it to look. Of course it's going to be pastel blue. I think I'll keep the sport/Grabber mirrors. No stripes on the sides but a flat black hood scoop, grill, chin spoiler and rear panel. Since this car is a 70 (even though I'm not a huge fan of it) I'll probably black out the rear panel and spoiler like a 70 Grabber with bright taillamp bezels.

Earl's car is probably the closest to the look I am going for.

I almost bought different wheels this weekend but after looking thru this thread, the Torq Thrust just fit the car and the look I'm going for.

I like the idea of using the theme from that Boss '9. Clean and understated ... (y)

Maybe some day I'll throw the Boss 302 in this one. We don't have anything else to use it in. I've got too many old cars already, I don't see me finding a motorless Boss 302.
