1972 Maverick Grabber Resto/Mod for my Dad

The next thing I decided to work on is the 9 inch rearend. The rearend was shortened to the match the width of the stock 8 inch. The third member was built with a Trac loc and 3.89 gears. I decided to stick with the stock 28 splined shafts. I used Wilwood Dynalite Pro Series Rear Parking Brake Kit with 12.19" diameter vented and slotted rotors. P/N 140-9282-D

Here is the rearend and the spindles after they were media blasted and prepped for powder coating.

Back to blocking the maverick out. I also got a little ahead of myself when painting the engine compartment and underside of the car. We are going to end up blocking the paint out again to get it to were it needs to be.

 

That sure looks great. Was just thinking of getting some seat pics to take to the upholsterer here to see what he can do. Nice color.

 

It the maverick ready for another coat of primer and then we will start guide coating the car to make sure we get it perfectly straight.

 

No more Antenna

 

What did you use to roll the fenders?

 

Hammer and Dollie. It was pretty tedious but it is well worth the added room for the wheels and tires. Definately not the same thickness of metal in a honda.

 

I've got the Eastwood tool for doing that, but I'm not sure it rolls it that far. Looks Killer.
