My CalTracs are set up for staggered shocks....

 

I would swear that a long time ago, might have been Lakewood had traction bars that doubled as that lower plate too. You bolted the lower shock mount directly to them.

I just skimmed through Summit's listings, but didn't see anything.

I might be wrong ... probably don't sell them anymore if they ever did ... nevamind ....

 

I bought a set of Lakewood traction bars for my 73 Duster back around 1976 that were built like that with a direct fit mounting plate and lower shock mounts - not the universal type but that was a long time ago

 

CalTrac's replace the lower plate.

 

Here is the lakewood traction bar that I bought in 84........when I raced the car the snubber was set 1/2" from the leaf spring.....no wheel hop....

 

There are 2 places to patch on the donor floor before its put in....its the same on the other side...

my little patch........

the patch welded in and sprayed with anti rust coating....I must practice welding sheetmetal...lots of welding left........

 

cut out the rusty stuff.....I left enough metal to do a lap joint.....placed and welded in a piece from behind(not shown)...........ended up with two layers again......its strong........still learning about metal patching.....

 

Wow.............I never bent mine..........not enough power....

This is just sad ......what do do here????is there a aftermarket replacement????after the floor is in this is the next fix........

 

i would say the wheels r out of line bad

 

this happened when I put a jack under it .....after sitting for 21 years the rust won..........never drove the car this way........

 

Man, that is rotten!! You need one from another car, I've never seen one so rotten

 

I most likely will have to chop one out of another donor car......more welding practice.............
