I hate the white lens in the tail lights. The car has gone from 3 on the tree to 3 on the floor so the rev light doesnt work anyway. Ive been mulling over a few options to get rid of it.
It looks like the white lens is pressed into the square hole. Has anyone popped out the lens? Id like to not break the red part, and I will need to white to make a mold.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing on my Bobcats. I thought I'd just cut off the clear lens and cut a section off of a spare light to fit the hole. I doubt you'll get the clear lens out of the red without breaking both. Looks like they used some kind of heat to fuse them together.

sure. The final goal is to figure out if it can be taken out and the red left whole. Does not much mater if the white is broken.

When I built those sequential lights, I tried to pop out the reverse lenses to save them, but they are bonded super tight and would not just "pop loose" from the red. If you want to get it out of there and dont care if it gets destroyed, I would just suggest using a dremel tool to cleanly remove it.

    :)

Thanks. I am going to get a couple from Craig. I am hoping from those to come up with something usable.

Why not go amber? Maybe turn signals.

I bet you could just cut one, and hide the seam under the separation of the bezel. Or if you were really up to it, you could just cut out the separation, give it some slight work, and have one piece all the way across, using another tail light cut down to fill the hole...

I was looking at the seam idea last nite. The bezel is rather wide. Would be a lot of room to work with. That might look better then a red not quite matching square.

That's exactly what I intend to do. There are plenty of Comet/Montego/Cyclone taillights out there to work with. :)

    Craig,
If I am looking at this correctly, would seem I have the later 71-77 lens. Which doesnt surprise me since nothing on this car seems to actually be from 1970.

do you have pics or post about the seq lights? Did you use the mav lights? If I can get rid of these white lights, I might do a two bulb seq. If that is even an option.
