All right the trim has been coming off fairly easy, But how do you get the "FORD" letter's on the trunk and hood off, and the "maverick"emblem between the 1/4 window and the rear window off? We have been lucky so far, We sanded the trunk lid just to see what is under the paint and found a lot of paint. so far we have found 2 layers of White,Dark Blue,Light Blue,Yellow,Black, Rust primer and Gray primer. what i thought was crappy body work is turning out to be poor sanding and a lot of bad painting. looks like all we have to do is sanding and painting

They just pry off with a screwdriver. Be sure to pry evenly all the way around so you don't break a post off.

You will need a full gallon Big, if you are doing a color change and are going to do the jams, trunk, doors under hood ext... you might consider getting an extra quart.

My car is single stage, and the last one i did took more than a gallon because of the jams, my brother did a Chevelle a few years ago in base coat clear coat and i think he used most of the gallon of base he had.

Well the Michigan winter has slowed the sanding down. It'a hard to get your gumshin going when its cold in the barn. So i installed a wood stove in the pole barn yesterday and thru my back out doing it...LOL getting old sucks!!!!!

My back is doing better but still sore. I broke my back about 20 years ago (i fell through a roof at a house fire broke my back and elbow) I,m kinda use to it being sore. My son and I are going to hang some insulation board today after work. the wood stove isn't helping much when its -10 wind chill and the barns not insulated. We have 6 weeks till my son moves back to Tennessee, I gotta have it ready for paint by then.

I wish you guys the best of luck, ol' man winter isn't cutting us any breaks this year. If that barn was a little closer to me i'd love to pitch in and help ya out.
