Gages in dash

I recall the guy who had the fiberglass design who passed. I think he has a relative who also is a member of this forum; I believe he finished the one his dad was working on -- just don't remember all details of who it was.
Anyway, great attention to detail on the dash as well as the rest of the build Glen. I wud imagine it was a time consuming project getting all those angles right an coming out w/ a very symmetrical looking part. You have some real talent in the fabrication spectrum.

what kind of audio set up do you have and what kind of layout? i like this idea

 

I did on my maverick, used a piece of exhaust pipe, and used 3m panel bond to "glue" them into the dash on the right side of the ash tray, Will look for a pic to show you.

 

I've been salivating over that gauge setup for a while now. I love how he recessed the mounting surface back a little bit too

Have you checked the clearance behind your panel? When I put the 5" Autometer MCX gauges in my factory cluster I had to do some cutting on the wiper bracket. Your setup may not be that deep, but it may be worth checking...

 

It is nothing fancy, I just ran power from my battery (fused it there) through my firewall (gromit) under my carpet under my back seat into the trunk. then it splits off (distribution block) to 2 amps. one runs 6x9s in the package tray, and the other to a 10 inch sub in box. i run ground from both amps to the steel in the floor of the trunk (grounded, then sealed and painted both top and bottom) a signal wire from both amps to switched power. i ran rca's from a headphone jack adapter, under the carpet into one amp and then from that amp (internal crossed over) into another amp. everything comes up out of the ashtray for a clean look. i coil the wire up in the ash tray when i want to make it go away, and poof! no stereo in this car!!

Thank you for the concern, seriously. When I made the panel I left the wiper motor assembly in the car, as well as anything else that might get in the way. I have plenty of room. Although, I know the 5" gauges you have are deeper, so maybe I wouldn't then.

I REALLY dig that, did you cut that in, or just add it on top of the contour and cut holes for the wires to pass through?

 

I made some I posted about a year ago simple ,made to fit in center vent cage. Made out of PCV tube, looks ok.
