After setting in my garage for a year waiting to get an engine in it, I drove the Mav' to the shop today, with no 1st gear, bummer, but finally got there, gave it a good wash, and come to realize, it needed some body work, my Grabber hood was starting to bubble, and the quarters were starting to bubble, I opened the door, and found my cowl is finally leaking, so I need to find me some Mustang cowl patches, if anyone knows where to get them, please let me know! My car is an AC car, so I believe I need both sides.. Hopefully after getting my cowl, hood, and quarters done, I won't run into any other problems..
is it the cowl or the windshield seal leaking? have you checked the floor pans in the front? A/C cars just have one hat on the pass. side.
Thanks for the info about the top hats. Its the cowl. I checked by pouring water directly down it. My floor pans are solid.
Since I don't have a solid donor I'm just going to use Mustang patch panels and coat it with POR15. Would adding a mesh behind the cowl grille help with leaves and other junk?
work as always... A/C is on ...recirculate... you may not want to do this if you have a...non-A/C car.
that was the finished...this was the beginning... post 7 and 10 http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=75552
The heater will draw in air from the two large drain holes at the ends of the cowl behind fenders. Not sure if its a good plan for fumes etc. but it will work as normal in defrost.
Thanks for the info guys! I don't have air and i do like the vented cowl look so its staying put. I was just curious how the deleted cowl would work.:Handshake
I have a magnetic cowl cover on, haven't repaired the cowl yet, and my defrost works just fine. It's a little bit slower but it was never fast to begin with.
