I guess I don't understand why you think I am going to cover up the trunk?

I am only going to dynamat the areas that will be covered up by carpet, dash, seats, door panels, and headliner. Sorry if I framed that up so it was not understood correctly.

The low portion of the hood was worked and now the gap between the cowl and the rear of the hood is much tighter:

You have to really watch that gap, get it too tight, and you'll chip the paint when you open the hood.

It doesn't hit but I completely understand. The last thing I need is to chip the paint because I wanted the gap closer than it should.

    Thanks for the heads up.

How do you like the hood hinges? How do they feel opening and closing your hood?

They are very smooth opening and closing the hood. The one thing I don't like is that the hood does not open as wide as the stock hinges. It is probably not the best height to work under the hood but a perfect height if you were showing the car off with the hood open.

The adjustability is awesome but the price was outrageous.

Well we ran into a problem with the right front fender. We were try to final fit the headlight bezels on the right front did not fit at all. The fender that the previous painter put on the car was not the one that I had chose for the car. After further investigation we found that there was a large amount of filler in the lower portion of the fender around the head light area. The fender they put on the car was the original fender that was on the car and had been hit in that area.

This was the only part of the car the current painter did not take back down to ensure that the car was all metal. I immediately went to the parts warehouse in my basement and pulled the near perfect fender that was originally my chose for the car. The bad part of all of this is he would have to roll the fender and fill the antenna and side marker light hole.

There was no chose and off he went to start the work on the fender. I was told by the first painter that this fender did not fit as well as the other. After 3 hours of work the fender was completed and fits way better than the one that was put on the car originally.

For all the Comet guys out there, you will be happy to know that a Comet GT part was put on the Maverick.

The final piece that needed some attention was the crack in the spoiler. Ground out the damage and glassed it back up so it should be good forever.

Its amazing how you can have 2 fenders, one fits well, and the other is way off.
You can see how pushed in, the first fender you had was. The square hole for the bezel screw retainer, is crooked.

I think that over time, the tooling wore out.
