Bootleg Hot Wheels
howd you get them in these colors???
I bought them at a swap meet when the Hot Wheels Maverick first came out a few months back. I think the guy i bought them from made bootleg copies. The only thing is they are done really good and the packages that they are in looks perfect as if the cars were never taken out to be changed, no rips or tears from the backing board. I'm not to sure how he did it?
There are a number of mistake cars out there. I just picked up a HW DeLorean that is flat black on the sides and gloss black on the top from a retail store. The others there were all gloss black and packages all had the same #s on them. The mistake cars are some of the most sought after of all the Hot Wheels
I have one hanging at my desk like the one on the far left, but it's "custom" with lights attached to the front bumper, fender flairs and Japanese turner style mirrors on the front fenders.
