Make sure you have them on the correct side and leave all the hardware loose when you first install the engine. Once you have it in, sitting on the engine and transmission mounts, tighten the bolts that hold the frame mounts in place.

Ok I just Talk to a guy and he said that the motor mounts may be different from the standard motor mounts because the motor came out of an 86 Thunderbird he said the frame mounts may work but the motor mounts may be different do you know of any truth to that

There is none at all, mounting pads & spacing on block are in same location on all 289/302/5.0/351/5.8 engines. I have a 1991 5.0 in my Comet.

As already stated, there are R & L mounts.

Besides fuel inj, things that differ are engine balance(requires 50 oz flexplate)& cam has steel gear, requires compatible gear on dist.

Are the rubber mounts (bolts to the engine) you are trying to use from the T-bird or did you buy them for the Maverick?

Sounds like you have all the right pieces, should go together.

How long ago did you buy the rubber motor mounts? The NEW reproductions that just came out are made wrong (this is per a conversation I have been having with Auto Krafters)
