What about the radio or the even the washer pump? IIRC.. and I often don't these days so add some extra salt.. I used to run the very few E-chokes I've used through the years right off the coils main 12V keyed lead. Or maybe it was the oil pressure sending unit? That way you aren't adding much in the way of new wiring and it can be loomed up nice and neat from the rear of the manifold.
If you don't have the instructions?.. look here. http://www.holley.com/data/Products/Technical/199R7972-4rev.pdf
Exactly ! Hot ignition, the correct initial timing, an EFI type cam and a smallish carb = no choke needed. I've had one Explorer level carbed 5.0 fed by a 570 SA Holley that would fireup and idle at 25*F without ever touching the go pedal. JUst crank it and wait a couple seconds for it to fire off
Okay so I'm planning on running the choke wire through the fire wall to the fuse box but does anyone know a fuse spot that gives me 12v?
Yea, any of the fuses will get you 12V. What you may want though is the amperage requirement of the choke, not the voltage.
